About me and my counselling
Hi, I’m Beth, an integrative counsellor based in Oxford, UK. Since 2018 I’ve been supporting women who feel deeply, give generously, and have found themselves quietly losing touch with who they are, whether through a significant life change, the weight of the past, or simply years of putting everyone else first.
I offer in-person counselling in Oxford and online sessions across the UK.
If you’re feeling lost, overwhelmed, or ready to understand yourself a little better, I’d love to be alongside you in that.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic methods depending on your personality, history and what feels most useful for you. Everything I do is rooted in your autonomy: this is your process, and we move at your pace.
Together we can explore the patterns and messages that have shaped your life, and, if you’d like to, begin gently to change them. I believe in the healing power of creativity and nature, and these can be woven into our work through story, art or metaphor when that feels right.
My counselling is trauma-informed. I’ll support you to understand and settle your nervous system, and we can work somatically, exploring how emotions live in the body and what they might be telling you. If you find yourself caught between the past and the future, we can work towards a steadier, more grounded sense of the present.
We may also explore your inner child, so that parts of you that once felt unseen or unsupported can begin to feel heard and cared for. I also offer EMDR therapy to help process distressing memories, stuck experiences, and beliefs that no longer serve you.
I view counselling as a genuinely collaborative process. Warmth, steadiness and compassion are central to the way I work, and I take seriously the trust it takes to show up and talk about the things that matter most.
I offer both short-term and longer-term work depending on what’s most helpful for you. Some people come for a focused piece of work over a few sessions; others choose to work together over a longer period. I also understand that caring and shift-based professions often come with unpredictable schedules, so where possible I aim to offer flexibility.

Support for therapists and helping professionals
I’m deeply committed to supporting those who support others. I co-founded Counsellors Therapy Pot, a community-based peer exchange offering affordable therapy for counsellors. You can find out more on the Counsellors Therapy Pot website.
I also offer reflective and compassionate counselling for counsellors and helping professionals navigating loss, shock or difficult experiences in their work.
Some experiences in helping professions are rarely spoken about openly: the loss of a client, patient or service user; difficult or sudden endings; emotional burnout from the work or from life events; the way our own grief and trauma can become stirred by what we hold for others. These moments can be deeply unsettling and isolating, particularly in professions where there is quiet pressure to remain composed and self-reliant.
I offer a space that is genuinely safe to talk about the emotional realities of this work, somewhere you can speak honestly, without judgement, and be met with grounded understanding and care.
If you’re a helping professional who would like somewhere to talk about something difficult, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
